NINO FORMICA
Nino Formica was born in 1961 in Calatabiano, a small town in the province of Catania at the foot of Mount Etna. For fifty years, photography has been more than a profession for him — it's been a way of seeing and interpreting the world, a lifelong passion that has taken him just a few kilometers from home to the coastline that would become the backdrop of his life's work: Taormina.
Everything begins with a story. Perhaps it's a fleeting expression, a glance, or a moment someone wants to remember forever. Nino's work has always been rooted in portraiture — learning to read a face, a pause, a moment about to happen — and that instinct remains the foundation of everything he shoots today, from weddings and proposals to quiet family moments across Sicily's most beautiful corners.
What couples notice most isn't the camera — it's the opposite. Those who've worked with him describe a presence so natural it becomes almost invisible, letting the day unfold exactly as it should, with every real moment caught rather than staged.
Decades of experience haven't dulled that instinct — if anything, his curiosity and care for every face in front of the lens remain as strong as they were on day one. That same attention, unhurried and personal, is what Nino brings to every couple who trusts him with their story in Taormina.
